Means that there were tracer rounds filled in the magazine. They help the firer to adjust the aimAbbas Ali wrote:Airbus pilot saw hail of bullets in deadly Pakistan landing
By Khurrum Anis and Andrew MacAskill
Bloomberg News
Tariq Chaudhry had little time to react when a storm of bullets headed straight toward him as he piloted a Pakistan International Airlines Corp. plane with about 200 people aboard toward the runway in Peshawar two days ago.
“I could see the volley of bullets coming and passing right and left of the plane’s cockpit,†Chaudhry, a pilot with 25 years of experience, said by phone yesterday, estimating that as many as 80 shots were fired at the Airbus A310 at the Pakistani airport. “The hail of fire was so powerful that it was not possible to turn the plane left or right.â€ÂÂ
Means there was none amongst other crew to help the injured pax and waited for the captain to park, complete the shut down before rushing back to cabin to 'help' the injured.Once he landed the plane, Chaudhry helped the three on board who were hit, including a Pakistani woman, Maqnoon Begum, who later died.
Metal casings????????, aren't these ejected from the weapon once fired, on target you only find projectile (lead bullet)He counted 13 bullet holes in the plane, which was en route from Saudi Arabia, and found metal casings for 7.62-caliber bullets commonly used in AK-47 assault rifles.
Is it an SOP or an individual pilot's choice.Chaudhry said he always turns off the plane’s main lights when landing in Peshawar,.......
No offence to the captain, just reflects the pathetic standards of journalism.

Its an SOP at least for PIA pilots flying into PEW, to switch off all lights at 10000ft including cabin lights and turn them on on short finals.
