He visited all areas of Karachi airport along with Director General CAA, Air Marshal (retd) Muhammad Yousaf and Director General ASF, Brigadier Muhammad Azam Tiwana.

Besides others four PIA Engineering Employees lost their lives while four injured.

“The entire PIA family is deeply saddened on the loss of four employees of PIA Engineering who lost their lives namely Fakhir Laghari, S.M Ilyas, Tanveer A Khan and Fazal Zuberi . May Allah Grant them eternal peace and strength to the family members of the departed souls”.

“Our prayers go out for the speedy recovery of all injured. We are grateful for the patience and discipline shown by the passengers present at the airport which helped in success of the operation”, he said.

Around 20 PIA flights were disturbed due to the heinous terrorist attack. One domestic flight was diverted to Nawabshah while three flights coming from abroad were diverted to Lahore. The passengers of the diverted flights were well looked after at alternate airports i.e. Nawabshah and Lahore.

^ Thank you Umar for the info.

A PIA Boeing 747-300 and Boeing 777-300ER that were seen parked at Karachi Airport on the morning of June 9. Don't know whether same aircraft are damaged.

Btw, one of Shaheen Air Boeing 737-400s that were seen parked near burning Terminal 2 building of the airport appears like a grounded aircraft missing engine number two and cockpit windscreens. Aircraft registration looks like AP-BJP.
