PIA Flight Returns to Kuala Lumpur Due to Engine Problem

According to statement of a PIA spokesperson, last night a PIA aircraft experienced engine problem after takeoff from Kuala Lumpur Airport. The aircraft returned to Kuala Lumpur about fifteen minutes after takeoff.

Aircraft type and flight number not mentioned in news reports.

Probably Kuala Lumpur to Lahore flight PK-899 operated with an Airbus A310-300?

On March 20, PIA Kuala Lumpur to Lahore flight PK-899 was operated with Airbus A310-308 (AP-BEQ), according to information on following link:

FlightAware confirms it was PIA flight PK-899 that returned to Kuala Lumpur.

The aircraft returned to Kuala Lumpur due to engine vibration, according to statement of a PIA spokesperson on news channels.

According to ARY News, the aircraft is still at Kuala Lumpur Airport.

According to a PIA spokesperson statement, flight PK-899 has now left Kuala Lumpur Airport and is expected to land at Lahore Airport at 6:00 PM.

On Thursday, vibration in engine number one of the twin-engine A310 was observed by crew and the aircraft returned to Kuala Lumpur twenty minutes after takeoff.

The unavailability of this Airbus affected PIA flights operation between Thursday and Saturday.

Information on following link confirms AP-BEQ is returning to Pakistan as flight PK-899 from Kuala Lumpur to Lahore today (March 22).

PK-899 is expected to land at Lahore at 6:00 PM today (March 22). It was scheduled to land at Lahore at 2:20 AM on Thursday (March 20), according to information on Lahore Airport website.

It means the flight suffered delay of nearly sixty-four hours.
