Last flight of AP-BHW shown on http://www.libhomeradar.org/ is PK-369 from Islamabad to Karachi operated on July 15, 2013.

Sad to see the plane standing idle for a long time. It should have been making revenue for airline with huge debts.

the worlds only airline to cannibalise an air plane that they are paying a heavy lease on. All part of turning the airline around.

The cost of grounding a perfect 390 seat, fuel efficient aircraft?
The revenue loss?
All because PIA cannot get an engine back from Air France.
I would ask all PIA employees to take a 5% pay cut for this month salary so BHW can be brought back into commission.

The same plane was grounded due to damaged rudder a few years back when it was new. These planes are not for us. I have seen many engineers because they cant interchange certain parts between the variants.

Re: Where is AP-BHW B77W now ?
This means that parts of the 777-200ER, 777-200LR and 777-300ER are not all interchangeable. For starters all 3 types operate engines with different thrust ratings i.e. GE90-94B, GE90-110B and GE90-115BL @94K, 110K and 115K lbs respectively.
The last update I got was that both engines are off the a/c and components from the cockpit are missing as well. Certain interchangeable parts have/are being removed and used on other a/c. However the a/c is not being totally neglected and being lubricated and greased to keep everything corrosion free.
One of Air India's 777-200LR's has also been grounded for over a year. It suffered a wing spar crack and AI has not bothered to repair it and it remains grounded in BOM till today.

Re: Where is AP-BHW B77W now ?
One engine is out of service and requires overhaul i.e. the engine of BHV which stalled and had to be fitted with the engine from BHW at Moscow, while another engine is in possession of Air France who will not release it till payment of overhaul dues are cleared.
There is no definite yes or no answer whether it will fly again but if logic and common sense prevail it should definitely be back in the air at some indeterminate time in the future.

it will fly again, as soon as PIA pays the cost of the overhaul, however till then it is being used for parts for other aircraft, so lets see how much of the plane is left when the engine does come in.
All part of the promised airline turnaround plan.
