Pakistani airlines designated for operating Hajj flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for year 2013 are:
Info Source: awamiweb.com
For the first time AirBlue has been included in list of airlines designated by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for Hajj flights between the two countries.
From Saudi Arabia, Nas Air and Saudia have operated Hajj flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the recent past.
From Pakistan, Hajj pilgrims will be carried to Saudi cities of Jeddah and Madinah.
Most likely AirBlue will carry pilgrims to Jeddah with its Airbus A340 aircraft. I think AirBlue will adjust quota of Hajj pilgrims allocated to the airline on its regular scheduled passenger flights between Pakistan and Jeddah. In the recent past, AirBlue has indicated plans to start flights for Jeddah.
Shaheen Air in the recent past has indicated plans to start flights for Madinah.
So, I think Shaheen Air and PIA will carry pilgrims to Jeddah and Madinah.
Hajj flights operation will begin around September 7, 2013.
Discuss issues and news related to PIA, Pakistani airlines and Pakistan's civil & military aviation.
