Maybe THY and Air Blue are going into a partnership like they had planned for PIA.

Bring in passengers from Pakistan for Europe, UK and North America.

Two A340-300s operating twice daily flights into Istanbul from Lahore, and Islamabad.

If this goes through PIA is screwed big time.

It could be a possible reason as they already started flying to Istanbul and PIA can get hard time from Airblue if such move is going to happen!

if the a343 and turboprop plans go ahead then they can proudly say'fastest growing airline'
airblue currently flies to SAW (on the asian side)-while i think the hub for turkish airlines is IST.
maybe airblue will try to fly into london gatwick in addition to manchester.

Gulf Air has some A343s in storage at BAH; is Airblue getting hand on them?

Tall claims by an airline that is nearing a financial crisis!
They were unable to procure their 'own' A320s after EDA! an A343 while aviailable is just unsuitable for their operations!
As far as Turbo props are cocnerned , what routes are they operating them on,? Skardu ,gilgit and chitral are low yield , weather plagued, scocio economic routes which will make further trouble for them, and they axed the LHE-ISB-LHE svcs due to non profitability 2 yrs back! so then again no probability.

ED plz stick to ur regional presence and strengthen ur fleet of one type acft!and leave europe to the giants!

True but Competition in Aviation is always there and rumours too..

btw if you don't mind What Giants what are you talking about? PIA giants or GIANTS in PIA Planes? Come On here i'm not going to start a Topic SAVE PIA ...

But yeah you are definitely going to see Turbo in 2 months and A340's by October Mark my Words :)

Age does not depend upon years, but upon temperament and health. Some men are born old, and some never grow so :p

nobody is hoping for the worse.we all hope that new developments happen and we see new birds. im sure ed has done its homework before making any decision. flying turboprop to socioeconomic routes is not hi-yield but demand in summer for the northern areas and chitral can be tapped. and pia does fly atr to multan.
consolidating with a320 seems more logical but i guess they have planned somethg else for the a340

I don't think AirBlue will restrict its turboprops to operating flights to/from Chitral, Skardu and Gilgit only.

AirBlue turboprops can be used successfully on routes like Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore with multiple number of flights per day.

The LHE-ISB run was one of the main determining factors for acquiring Dash 8's.

ISB-LHE- ISB was a temporary route for AirBlue. The airline has leased additional aircraft for its Sharjah operations but then had a set back and the leased aircraft were then used on ISB-LHE-ISB for the interim period until they were able to start operations to Sharjah. This was discussed at the time:

How does their training program working btw? Do they have their own rated instructors? Where are their simulators etc performed? Just a general query about ED.. Do they have a training center anywhere in the country? Not just for pilots, but cabin crew as well..

ED plans to restart the LHE-ISB run as well as the northern area flights with Dash 8. The LHE-ISB route is said to be very lucrative for them.

@ Amaad, yess i have spoken like a true employee , im proud to be one :)
im not biased or agianst ED or any private carrier , just spoken my mind out , since it is a forum where you can voice out your opinion i se eno harm in putting in my thoughts!no offence to ED or any of its supports but im just sick of the constatn comparison of PK and ED ! which btw is not even a bench mark for aviaiton svcs!

@Jameel.Ashraf3 when i say "GIANTS" , I suggest "GIANTs" like EK and EY and the likes. BTW what GIANTS have u come across on a plane ever anyways ?! , this cracks me up how literally u took my expression .... haha
yess now i know "some" ppl cant grow up like u said (esp on this forum!) :P need i say more?
