Re: Karachi Airport to Get New Passenger Boarding Bridges
yes, Jeddah is served with mobile stairs, no jetways. In such case, Emirates if willing A380 to operate to Karachi and authorities allowing Emirates to operate to Karachi then most probably remote stands (71, 72, 73, etc) can work well with similar strategy but A380 requires the whole airport infrastructure to be upgraded as well beside the runway PCN which is already compatible; the most upgrades will be the Ground Services equipment, taxiway shoulders, etc
btw, the thread is being dragged towards A380 ops which in my opinion will not be happening any soon, so lets get back to the new jetway bridges for Jinnah intl.

Just for adding info, Emirates A380 is usually, say upto 80-85%, is sent to the Hajj terminal gates where there are Jetways, even when there are no Haj flights.

Thanks for sharing this link! I was particularly fascinated by the proposed expansion plan. Not at all what I expected.hal9000 wrote: Fellow aviation enthusiasts might enjoy the following link. It has the actual plan for Karachi Airport, in case it would require expansion in future.

Given it's current level of service, I'm not entirely sure whether Karachi airport needs expansion, though I would like to see some renovations/refurbishments, as the interior looks kind of dated by now.

Re: Karachi Airport to Get New Passenger Boarding Bridges
A relative who arrived in Lahore via Karachi after her Lahore-bound international flight diverted to Karachi due to heavy fog in Lahore in January this year was impressed with cleanliness and maintenance of Karachi Airport. Pakistan CAA complimentary tea service was pleasant surprise for her and she was full of praise for the airport and its passenger services staff.

Nothing wrong with that. 99% of world does it.
