FEBRUARY 8, 2012 - According to local news channels, an F-7PG fighter interceptor of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has crashed in a mountainous area near Pishin. The aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crashed after experiencing some technical problem.

Aircraft's pilot safe but injured and has been shifted to a hospital.

Probably the crashed F-7PG belonged to No. 17 Squadron "Tigers" or No. 23 Squadron "Talons". Both these squadrons are based a PAF Base Samungli in Quetta.

Pilot has died, according to latest reports.

Pilot was able to eject from the aircraft but received injuries and did not reach ground safely.

For any air force, loss of a trained pilot is always much greater than loss of the aircraft.
