Landing Gear Problem Experienced by Turbat-bound PIA Flight

FEBRUARY 8, 2012 - According to local news channels, today, in the morning, a PIA ATR 42-500 operating flight PK-501 from Karachi to Turbat returned to Karachi after experiencing problem with its landing gear.

The turboprop aircraft was unable to retract landing gear after takeoff from Karachi, according to a news channel.

Passengers of flight PK-501 included Federal Information Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan who was traveling to Turbat to launch 100 kilowatt high power transmitter at Radio Pakistan’s Turbat Station. She was unable to visit Turbat due to technical problem experienced by PIA aircraft.
