PIA is still now willing to give the facility of IFE for each pessenger in Economy Class for these aircrafts.

Secondly the seat pitch for economy should 32" min and 46" for business Class.

According to bidding document, Economy Class cabin will have drop down LCD screens like seen in following photo of Finnair Airbus A320-200.

Click here to see large photo.

Also, according to bidding document, PIA intends to use dry leased narrowbody jets for flights to/from airports including:

Mohenjodaro (probably will require runway extension which was rejected recently)
Madinah
Jeddah (from Quetta)
Beijing
Istanbul
Kuala Lumpur
Bangkok

I think after a long time, airports like Jeddah and Beijing will see PIA narrowbody jet flights. In the past, PIA Boeing 707s and 720B narrowbody jets operated flights to these airports.

737-800 and 737-600

A321 A320 and A319.

PIA should go for a financial package that saves money.

I think if the travel time for the destination is more than 2.30 hour there must be IFE for each pessenger as are available with most of the GUlf region cariers. The flight Distance for Madinah, Jeddah, Beijing, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok etc will not less than 3 hours.

IF PIA offer IFE on short-medium routes than their product is already better than most western carriers because they offer nothing but peanuts and coke usually

Travel time for Destinations like Bangkok, KL is more then 2.30 hours. PIA Should offer individual IFE to its Passengers, not the Drop Down One.

It has been reported in press that the PIA is getting ten A321 aircraft and ten A320 aircraft in 2012. In 2013, the PIA would acquire as many as four ATR-72 and five 777-300ER aircraft while it would get six A321 planes in 2014.

I think it means five Boeing 747-300s will continue to serve PIA till 2013 when they get replaced by five Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

^ The aircraft manufacturing company or aircraft leasing company that gets contract to supply narrowbody jets on dry lease to PIA will obviously be the successful bidder.

I think company getting this contract will be announced by PIA or by that company itself through a press release.
