Karachi, October 10, 2011: PIA (www.piac.aero) passengers will now be able to pay for their air tickets at any Easypaisa shop (easypaisa.com.pk), Telenor Pakistan Sales & Service Center (telenor.com.pk), Tameer Bank (tameerbank.com) branch or from their own mobile phones via an Easypaisa Mobile Account.



An agreement between PIA and Tameer Microfinance Bank for the provision of the services, was signed by Managing Director PIA, Captain Nadeem Khan Yousufzai and Mr. Nadeem Hussain, President Tameer Microfinance Bank. The signing ceremony was held at PIA Head Office and attended by officials of PIA and Telenor Pakistan.

Managing Director PIA, Captain Nadeem Yousufzai while sharing his comments on the occasion said that PIA passengers will now have an added advantage of Paying for tickets through Easypaisa outlets across Pakistan. PIA passengers comfort and convenience has always been the airline’s priority and this agreement with Tameer Micro Finance Bank (Telenor Pakistan) is another facility offered to passengers. Presently, passengers have the facility of buying PIA tickets from PIA Booking Offices, PIA’s Website and the airline travel agents. Now this service facility will expand to facilitate our valued customers.

Nadeem Hussain, in his comments following the agreement, said: “Easypaisa is delighted to become a partner with PIAC as payment solution provider for their customers, offering them our unique branchless banking facility. Unlike conventional payment services, Easypaisa services are available around the clock and offer customers an alternative payment process which is secure, reliable, and efficient. We are sure that PIA customers will find it more convenient than ever to use Easypaisa outlets when paying for their air tickets.”

As a result of this agreement, PIA passenger, after getting a PNR (reservation) by calling PIA Call Centre at 111-786-786 will be able to pay at any Easypaisa outlet and get the ticket issued. The receipt and confirmation will be communicated to the customer through an SMS. Passengers will get a print from any of PIA Sales counters throughout Pakistan or from PIA offices at the airports. This can be done anytime even on the day of the flight. This facility will be available for PIA passenger from 01st January 2012.

Pakistan’s first real branchless banking solution, Easypaisa, was launched jointly by Telenor Pakistan and Tameer Microfinance Bank in 2009. Since then, it has helped provide people across Pakistan with access to convenient and secure financial services. Today, Easypaisa services are available at over 12,000 outlets in 550 cities. Telenor Pakistan holds a majority share in Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited, licensed by State Bank of Pakistan. It is the first bank to have approval to conduct branchless banking business in Pakistan.

KARACHI, April 3, 2012: People living in remote areas will have the facility of buying their tickets through Easy Paisa outlets; the facility is expected to be made available by end of April 2012 instead of coming to major cities for the purpose, besides web ticketing and PIA franchises.

This service will be launched in near time soon, all the back-end operations have been completed but commercially its not launched as yet. One important thing to mention here is that customer will not have to go physically at any easy paisa retail outlet, if he maintains an Easy Paisa account on his mobile he can get the ticket on his mobile and most probably the SMS will act as the ticket (talks between Telenor (Tameer Bank) & PIA is underway to process this as reality). However, if customer wants he can go to any Easy Paisa retail outlet deposit the amount and have the ticket voucher.

PIA Launches Fori Ticket

Lahore, June 7, 2012: Chairman & CEO PIA, Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Rao Qamar Suleman inaugurated the PIA 2-Day Marketing Conference here on Thursday, June 7, 2012 being participated by PIA Station Heads, Cargo Managers and members of the Sales and Marketing Teams working throughout the country and abroad.

On the occasion of PIA Marketing Conference 2012, a dynamic Marketing initiative of PIA “Fori Ticket” (فو ر ی ٹکٹ) in collaboration with Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited (www.tameerbank.com) and Telenor EasyPaisa (www.easypaisa.com.pk) was also launched which will enable people living in the remotest part of the country to book their seats at PIA Call Center, make payments through 18,000 plus easy paisa outlets throughout Pakistan and get the printout of the ticket form their home computers, offices and PIA Service counters at airports.

The Marketing Conference 2012 will have six working sessions during which Revenue performance and Divisional performance will be overviewed and presentations would be made by Country Managers.

Chairman & CEO PIA Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Rao Qamar Suleman said that the simple turn-around strategy for PIA is to increase revenues and reduce expenses. Focus must be laid on Safe Engineering Practices, Aircraft Maintenance and better Customer Services. While serving customers with a smile, the airline would earn customer loyalty. PIA employees should extend maximum courtesy and make all its customers feel like VVIPs.

PIA Chairman & CEO said that living in the age of Information Technology it has become easier to reduce cost of operations and Fori Ticket service is one initiative of PIA with the help of Tameer Microfinance Bank and Telenor EasyPaisa that the service to our customers can be provided at their door step without incurring any infrastructure costs. He thanked Mr. Nadeem Hussain, President and CEO of Tameer Microfinance Bank, Country President Abacus, and the team of EasyPaisa on the launch of the service beginning June 7, 2012. The first ticket was processed through Easy Paisa on the occasion and was booked for Mr. Nadeem Hussain on Islamabad-Karachi-Islamabad sector and was presented to him by Chairman & CEO PIA Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Rao Qamar Suleman.

Speaking at the event, President and CEO Tameer Microfinance Bank, Nadeem Hussain said, “The ticketing service will truly help the people of Pakistan – especially those living in far flung areas – who previously did not have access to PIA booking offices, will now be able to get their tickets through EasyPaisa merchants. Moreover, through Mobile Accounts, the purchase of tickets is now available for everyone with the convenience of printing the tickets at home. We appreciate the support extended to us by the PIA management and other stakeholders who have not only made this service possible but have played an integral part towards the vision of EasyPaisa, which is to bring financial inclusion to everyone in the country.”

PIA Fori Ticket Float Inaugurated

Karachi, June 27, 2012: PIA’s Fori Ticket facility is available for PIA customers, who can pay for PIA tickets at more than 18,000 EasyPaisa outlets all over Pakistan.

The airline for providing information about the facility has launched a float activity.

“PIA Fori Ticket Talent Hunt and Fungama” float started its journey from PIA Head Office Karachi on Wednesday, 27 June 2012 and will visit 23 cities of Pakistan. The purpose of the float is to provide information regarding PIA Fori Ticket Facility to the remote and rural areas of Pakistan while a talent hunt program is also one of the main attractions of the float.

24 talented persons will be selected by audience poll in 4 categories in each city who will be awarded medals, prizes & certificates. A total 552 talented candidates from 23 cities of Pakistan will be included in the lucky draw for 30 PIA Free Domestic Tickets.



Chairman & CEO PIA, Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Rao Qamar Suleman, Director Corporate Services PIA, Mr. Irshad Ghani, Senior Officials of the airline and PIA employees witnessed the commencement of the Float at the airline’s head office.
