good show!!!!! good to see Aviation growing in Pakistan. Hopefulyy NL will offer better product now. They will most prpbly aquire 734s from Malaysia Airlines as they are phasing 734s out and replacing it with 738NGs.
Im guessing its a dry lease!! (No Crew included)...???

heard that few of the cockpit crew is going to be from the airline they are leasing from

shaheen air management is very disgusting no one from the management is willing to listen to the flying crew. management takes work as if the flying crew are prisoners.

From photos on the net it seems cockpit of most Boeing 737-400 aircraft is sort of semi-glass cockpit - a combination of analog and Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) instruments.

Maybe early production 737-400 models had analog instruments only.

Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) series aircraft (-600/-700/-800/-900 series) have full glass cockpit.

Btw, for quite some time we have been hearing about plans to introduce newer variants of Boeing 737 like Boeing 737-400 or Boeing 737-300 in Shaheen Air fleet through news media or other sources.

Let's wait & see when these plans become a reality.

Standard 737-3/4/500s have same cockpit as that of PIA AP-BEH i.e EADI and EHSI, plus a single electronic display shouwing engine instruments cluster in an analog format.

PIA though opted for mechanical ADI and HSI for her six B737-300. Perhaps at that time (mid 80s) EFIS was a bit too much for PIA to handle.

Excellent.

On reflection I figured that the -400 had the same instruments as the 757/767. Only the EADI and EHSI were "glass".

I don't know if your comment on PIA being over-whelmned by the "glass" makes sense. But it does pose an interesting question: if the technology was available, why did PIA opt for a full-analog cockpit? I suspect it was not availabe on early -300 models.

Remember general reluctance for touch system controls on VCRs. :-k

EFIS was there for 737-3/4/500s since the type was introduced. Some airlines including PIA though opted for no EFIS cockpit.

Why?

I know airlines "customize" their orders. On the Trident IE, for example, we told HS that we did not like the Rams-Horn so they produced a "normal"/"conventional" control column for our fleet.

But to decline a semi-glass cockpit with its visual clarity and immeasurable safety benefits was a retrogressive step.

Maybe if we had it that 737 would not have got lost?!

Is it possible to know the name of Turkish company from which Shaheen Air is acquiring Boeing 737-400s on lease or registrations of those aircraft ?

MNG Airlines of Turkey has two Boeing 737-400s in its fleet and in the past wet leased Boeing 737-400 of MNG airlines operated flights for PIA.

MNG is now an all cargo airline... so it must be another airline with 734: Corendon Airlines (2 planes), Pegasus Airlines (2, will be sale to Merpati), Sky Airlines (6), Tailwind Airlines (5) and Turkish Airlines (3).

According to information forwarded to me by a friend, recently there have been no reports or sighting of any Boeing 737-400 at Dubai Airport for maintenance checks for Shaheen Air.
