PIA To Reduce Workforce During Next Five Years

Post by Abbas Ali »

ISLAMABAD, September 27 - According to a local news channel, meeting of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chaired by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is under progress at the moment. The meeting has sought details of induction of employees in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

There have been reports of people hired by the airline in violation of merit, according to the statement by Nisar Ali quoted by news channel.

Managing Director PIA Capt. Aijaz Haroon has said that PIA will reduce its workforce by 4,339 in next five years.

PIA in recent years has been criticized for being heavily overstaffed and for hiring people on political basis in violation of merit.
