On May 6, around 1,200 passengers of five international flights that landed at Islamabad International Airport within an hour shouted at each other and misbehaved with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) staff. Agitated passengers pushed each other to reach immigration counters. Only four to five immigration counters were staffed/working at that time delaying immigration process of the passengers.

On May 6:

* Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft registration A6-END flight EK612 from Dubai landed in Islamabad at 7:06 AM.

* PIA Boeing 777-200LR aircraft registration AP-BGZ flight PK9714 from Medina landed in Islamabad at 7:14 AM.

* PIA Airbus A320 aircraft registration AP-BLB flight PK288 from Doha landed in Islamabad at 7:17 AM.

* Saudia Boeing 777-300ER aircraft registration HZ-AK34 flight SV724 from Riyadh landed in Islamabad at 7:19 AM.

* Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300ER aircraft registration A7-BAX flight QR614 from Doha landed in Islamabad at 7:34 AM

The shortage of ground staff including security in the UK has been well reported in the media. However you very rarely hear of people misbehaving with staff due to the same.

Why do our Pakistanis feel it is necessary to misbehave in such a way? I agree people pay the relevant taxes in their tickets and expect to have a decent service at the airport, but this shouting and misbehaving doesn't solve anything.

I landed Islamabad airport last night at around 12:45 AM from Dubai, since this also is a rush hour considering flights like Emirates, Qatar, Etihad and British Airways arrive around this time, there were 4 FIA counters working while I appreciate the FIA supervisor who was on the toes trying to make the maximum number of counters working to facilitate passengers, it took me just 10 minutes to go through the immigration.
