AirBlue jet down in Islamabad
Just received a text from my friend in ISB, an Air Blue jet with 165 people on-board crashed in Margalla Hills (Damn-e-Koh)- Islamabad. All passengers feared dead. Any confirmation to this news? I'm trying to contact my another friend who works in Air Blue but his mobile number is still not reachable.

Re: Air Blue's jet down in ISB??
I am in F-6 at the moment and the craft has gone down between Faisal Mosque and Daman-e-Koh. The hills are shrouded in mist and all you can hear are helicopters.
I did not hear the impact and cannot see any smoke, even from the roof.
Very, very sad day indeed. May God rest the souls of the departed

Reports are coming in that a plane has crashed in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
Initial information suggests it was flying from Turkey to Islamabad via Karachi with more than 150 people on board.
Pakistani television is showing images of smoke arising from a hillside in the Margalla Hills in poor weather conditions.
A huge rescue effort has been launched. Details are still emerging.
"There were 146 passengers and six crewmen on board. We are gathering information. We have no more details," Mubarik Shah, spokesman of the state-run Civil Aviation Authority, told the Reuters news agency

Indeed a tragic news. Smoke is billowing out of the plane and I can see that it has disintegrated into many pieces. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. That's the tragedy of air crashes that there are almost always very few survivors. Still hoping that some may survive.
It's raining heavily in Islamabad so wondering why they didn't reroute the plane to PEW or LHE?
