Expression of Interest (EoI) for pre-qualification of Consultants

Planning, designing & supervision for construction/expansion of lounges in passenger terminal building at Allama Iqbal International Air Port (AIIAP), Lahore.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has planned to undertake major expansion of existing passenger terminal building at Allama Iqbal International Air Port (AIIAP), Lahore, to enhance its annual passenger handling capacity from 6.5 million to around 20 million with world class facilities to cater for the requirements for next 15 to 20 years.

For this purpose CAA is desirous to engage the services of a consultant who would be responsible for detailed planning, designing and site supervision of the project.

What design will selected for upgrade or extension of Lahore international airport...

There is some space left on the left side of lhe airport which can be utilized too i dont know if this is viable but i read some where that increase in population towards 36R cause lots of issues.....
36L side is still open and can be well extended upto 3500 meter runway 60 ft wide so A380 can also be handled..

According to PTV News, today Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting to discuss Lahore Airport expansion project.

The PM received briefing on expansion project from representatives of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK).

Mr. Sharif advised CAA and NESPAK to prepare best possible design for airport expansion and said that reputable companies should be consulted for designing airport expansion. Financial and technical matters/reports related to the project should be completed within a timeframe, he said.

During the expansion, the runway will also be upgraded to accommodate the a380.The runway of Karachi will also get up gradation

According to PTV News 9:00 PM "Khabarnama", different artists' impressions/designs of expanded terminal building will be prepared/presented and from those designs the best design will be selected.

They are redesigning the entire Airport?

Redesigning airport is a good thing but there are so many new colonies mushroomed near airport which are troubling in expansion especially installations of Cat3b... Which is pending... What are the major upgrades expected at Lahore airport.?

Is it possible to Move the Airport away from the city into some Village?

I don't think entire terminal building is going to be redesigned.

It seems they want to see various designs/shapes of building structure that will extend existing terminal building.

The terminal extension should appear seamless in my opinion i.e. new structure should have exactly same external Mughal style architecture of existing terminal building but with newer/modern interior.

I heard that they were going to build a new terminal for domestic flights is that still happening ?

Moving the whole airport from one place to another is very long , time taking and very costly too..take an example of London Heathrow runway 3 plan which was pending from the last 7,8 years and opposition ask to build new airport outskirts of London which was expensive..so their court decide to built 3rd runway near to the 2nd runway by using 800 homes space and accommodate them respectively....all in all our CAA needs to plan for next 25 years minimum...govt also needs to support positively in this regards....

The airport has enough vacant land for extension of existing terminal building from its both sides.
