Jumbo To Be Flying Again By May 28: PIA
ISLAMABAD: After being grounded for approximately three months, the Boeing 747-300 jumbo jet fleet of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would now fly again for Umrah by May 28, PIA Managing Director Captain Aijaz Haroon said on Thursday. Talking to a TV channel, he said PIA jumbo is now back in flight line and two aircraft had made a test flight for approximately one-and-a-half hour and landed safely with no flight defect. He said PIA will not induct aircraft from any other airline for the next Hajj operation and will complete the operation with its own resources.

AP-BAK and AP-BAT should only be used in combi operations if the cargo load is there both ways. Flying an empty cargo hold on the combi flights will not make any sense.
The other option is the full passenger layout, high density which PIA use to carry around 440 passengers in the 747-200s.
The 747-300/200s should replace A310s on the Karachi-Lahore-Karachi and Karachi-Islamabad-Karachi flights.
The domestic trunk routes should be high density, all economy and drinks only.
In return the A310s should be used to open more flights for Bangkok, Singpore, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, Colombo and Male.
