Amaad Lone wrote:Shaheen can improve it domestic flight network by having more flights between Karachi-Lahore, Karachi-Islamabad, and Karachi-Peshawar.

Also The A320s can come in handy for Dhaka and Bangkok

Plus Shaheen should launch a daily Istanbul service out of Karachi, and code share with THY for European cities.

Cheaper fares then Emirates, Qatar, and Etihad can really bring in business for Shaheen Air.

After Karachi Shaheen can introduce something similar from Lahore.
Good suggestions. I made the same re Dhaka, Bangkok, KL on their FB page. Initially it was said they were getting the A320 only for 'short hops' which is ridiculous considering it has a much greater range than the 734 and airlines like Saudia, Qatar, Etihad, GF etc fly them from the Middle East to Europe nonstop. The 737's are best deployed on domestic routes while the A320's serve the Middle East and other prospective international destinations such as DAC, BKK and KUL. Apparently 2 ATR-72's are also coming at some point.

Shaheen said Dhaka and Bangkok will start after Hajj operations ends. Its been quite sometime now. Plus does anyone have any clue which routes the ATR's will be deployed to? Perhaps, gilgit or skardu?

^ ATR 72 will be ideal equipment for Shaheen Air flights on sectors like Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore and Lahore-Multan-Lahore.

The turboprop aircraft will allow Shaheen Air to grab its share on Lahore-Islamabad sector flights.

Presently, only PIA is operating flights between Lahore and Islamabad.

February 26-27 delivery flight route for Shaheen Air Airbus A320s (AP-BLJ & AP-BLK) is probably:

Up till now, they must have reached Karachi.

@ Abbas

Any news, have they landed in Karachi yet? What new routes will come with the addition of these new birds?

The two A320s during their service with Spanair were configured to carry 180 passengers in single class layout.

Probably Shaheen Air retained that seating configuration.

So, A320s will offer more range, seating/baggage/cargo capacity than airline's Boeing 737-200/-400 fleet and I think we will see Shaheen Air A320s at airports like Dammam, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

From information on Shaheen Air website it seems their Boeing 737-200 is configured to carry 120 passengers and their Boeing 737-400 is configured to carry 164 passengers.

Probably flights between Madinah and Multan will also be introduced with A320 aircraft.

Might possibly they can use their bigger planes for much longer routes and replace these new planes for all their sites in middle east.

Or alternatively they can increase the frequency of their flights, like in dammam they are operating 1 flight from islamabad, and 3 flights weekly from lahore, they can make 4 for lahore and introduce 3 flights from karachi also and similarly on other middle east routes where they are doing a huge business...

Lets see what new routes they announce after arrival of these A320's...
