Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) is planning to underake the subject work to develop and upgrade facilities in order to provide modern and efficient services at Quetta International Airport.
The components of the works in the project shall consist of but not limited to the following:
Civil Works:
Dismantling and removal of existing concrete apron pavement.
Construction of Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) pavement for apron.
Asphaltic overlay on taxiway.
Storm water drain.
Pavement markings.
All associated works with the components mentioned above.
Electrical Works:
Dismantling of existing lattice tower and allied facilities.
Expanded and upgraded terminal building of Quetta International Airport will be inaugurated in coming weeks, this was stated by Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan Abbasi at new Islamabad International Airport inauguration today.
Seventy-five percent of Quetta Airport terminal building expansion/upgrade work has been completed. This was disclosed at Senate Standing Committee on Planning meeting.
Expanded terminal building of Quetta International Airport will be inaugurated next week. This was stated by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at ceremony arranged for inauguration of expanded terminal building of Peshawar Airport today.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate expanded and upgraded terminal building of Quetta International Airport on Wednesday (May 30). More than 1.71 billion rupees were spent on the project started by the federal government in 2016.
New and improved facilities at the airport include:
Ground level area increased from 45,904 square feet to 1,11,720 square feet.
Level-I area increased from 23,500 square feet to 87,270 square feet.
Domestic check-in counters increased from 5 to 12.
International check-in counters increased from 3 to 12.
International Arrivals immigration counters increased from 5 to 12.
International Departures immigration counters increased from 3 to 14.
Domestic Departures lounge seating capacity increased from 200 passengers to 432 passengers.
International Departures lounge seating capacity increased from 260 passengers to 816 passengers.
Domestic departures VIP Lounge seating capacity for 30 passengers.
International departures VIP lounge seating capacity for 53 passengers.
Restaurant with capacity for 100 persons.
Number of baggage conveyor belts increased from 1 to 2 in Domestic Arrivals.
Number of baggage conveyor belts increased from 1 to 2 in International Arrivals.
Number of escalators increased from 2 to 4.
Two boarding bridges installed. One on domestic flights side and the other one on international flights side of the terminal building.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate completed Phase-I of Quetta International Airport Terminal Building Renovation and Expansion project on May 30.
The airport road will be closed from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
